Vampires in the world of Cwelythvir were the result of dark magicks in ages long past. The exact mechanism by which the curse, or boon to some, had been created is lost to time. Such is the same with the mystery of the werewolves. Perhaps a group of mortals were cursed by a vengeful Deity, or the force of the Archaic Divinities spread such evil.
Regardless of their origin, the plague of the vampire strikes to the very heart of this land. Their ravenous habits have struck fear into every mortal of the realm.
To slay a vampire, one must either remove its head or drive a stake into it. However, particular warding magicks may prevent a vampire’s death. Therefore, it is recommended that the prescence of a priest of the Deities or a similarly adept magician should be made present at its internment to remove its original curse.
