Werewolves are dangerous monsters within the world of Cwelythvir, so its best to be informed and keep your wits about you!
Origin:
There are two theories as to the origin of the werewolves:
- They were created through the appearance of an evil moon one dreadful night, which weakened the prison of Fenrir. This allowed some of its essence to escape into the world as the first werewolves.
- They were formed though the curse of an ancient nature deity, who wished to imbue the mortal lineages of the world with the darkness of the wild.
Habitat:
Werewolves make their homes, for the most part, int he wild places of the world. Typically they search out a cave to act as a den, and conduct their acts of destruction in the vicinity around such a locale. However, there are other werewolves that find themselves within the underbelly of dark cities, where their actions are masked through the sheer number of the populace.
The Everlasting Lupines:
When a werewolf reaches a thousand years or more in age, they are known as an Everlasting Lupine. Most of such monsters are in the service of evil Deities, Daemons, or Archaic Divinities. They are invulnerable to most forms of harm except for weapons made from silver.
Senses:
Werewolves have enhanced sight, hearing, smell, and strength. Some have been documented as being able to detect magickal energies.
Cure:
The herb known as Wolfish Amaranth is known for being able to help cure induced lycanthropy, though the steps to achieve this goal are complicated and difficult.
