Wyvern: Monsters of Cwelythvir

History:

As with the other offspring of the dragons, wyverns were the remnants of this lineage after the Imprisonment of the Empyrean Apostates. Generally regarded as the most intelligent and cunning of the progeny of the dragons, the wyverns have eeked out a place high in the hierarchy of draconian power.

After the fall of the Empyrean Apostates, dragons included, wyverns have found themselves in places of reverence and worship among mortals. Indeed, some have been treated as gods. Though such wyverns were powerful to begin with, the admiration as a supernatural being from mortals has given these Apotheosized Wyverns immense magickal power.

Ecology:

Unlike some of the other children of the dragons, wyverns are far too intelligent to partake in petty hunts for wild game. Often, they will manipulate a mortal or group of mortals to care for it in return for various boons. Should this method fail, wyverns are not above razing and pillaging a nearby village or city in search of sustenance.
