Janus is the god of duality, doorways, war, and peace. He often manifests as having two heads, which may talk in unison or have distinct personalities. This Deity is extremely powerful, and it is said that he is in fact not just one god, but two. As the myth goes:
“And in those days of crimson light, when roiled again and again the earth and stars, when the ichor of the Archaic Divinities was spilt, two gods sprung from the sanguinous pool. Ripples to mountains and red to flesh they rose. In but a moment they were set upon each other. Strife in their minds oozed as a pestilant sore. Their blood was spilt as their progenitors before. From their ichor sprang passages to hatchling realms. Striking light and blighted darkness spread. As they fought the victor emerged. Both melded to one, and the world had found a god.”
Many major powers in this realm have dedicated vast temples to the deity. Most have two entryways, symbolizing the dual nature of Janus. Dedicated clergies provide offerings to him, and advise on matters on how best to serve his aims.
