Nearly 1,000 years ago, a great plague was wrought upon the world. Caused by the dark power of Namtar, a god of disease, this sickness caused horrid withering of affected limbs. Entire armies were brought to ruin, and the bloodlines of royal families across the realm had been extinguished.
This curse was alleviated nearly 50 years after its inception, with the power of the Sacred Acolytes of the Slain Serpent and the god Apollo. Slowly, the world began to recover from the plague, though in dark corners it may still linger, waiting to spread its foul influence.
